Responsible Mineral Sourcing Policy

RESPONSIBLE MINERALS PROCUREMENT POLICY

Mining for minerals originating from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas (CAHRAs) causes human rights violations and environmental destruction. Those minerals then are a source of funds for armed groups. This is an international issue. We are engaging in the following efforts to source minerals not involved in this issue from the perspective of our corporate social responsibility (CSR).

1. Supply Chain Management

We appropriately manage our supply chain when sourcing tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (3TG), cobalt and other minerals according to the “OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas”.

2. Investigation

We conduct investigations going back along our supply chain using the international standard template provided by the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) as an investigation tool.

3. Risk Mitigation

If we discover a risk in our supply chain, we conduct a further investigation as necessary. We then strive to reduce that risk.

4. Confirmation of Properly Traded Minerals

We confirm that minerals originating from CAHRAs are properly traded minerals of refineries not involved in inhuman practices.

5. Collection of Latest Information

We collect information on the latest trends. We then engage in activities to eliminate the use of problematic minerals.
